Shamanic Guidance: Transmutation while Journaling to Achieve Inner Balance

Transmutation is the transformation of one energy into another.

Like the snake sheds its' skin, we must also shed what no longer serves us. So how can we let go of baggage and old wounding that we have carried around with us?

I am going to walk you through a very physical example of how you can turn old energy into new. Keep in mind, we have many layers inside of us and transformation is a process that takes place over time. While some wounds may be easier to heal, others may reside deeper than others.

Here are prompts that I often use in my Shamanic healing practice that everyone can use to experience and create internal shifts.

First, begin with what you would like to transform in your life. This could be a wound, a trigger, or a traumatic event.

Next, ask yourself what the belief is surrounding this topic. Is it possible to transform? What do you feel will take place? (This can be completely irrational, but it may be very believable to the part of you that is experiencing this wounding or belief).

What emotions do you feel surrounding your belief? This could range and vary from sadness, anger, grief, etc. As you feel into the emotion, are you able to articulate or locate when the emotions about the belief began? You may receive a memory or recall a triggering event.

Are you willing to feel this emotion and allow it to exist as it is?

With the allowance of this emotion to exist, what would you like to feel instead?

Bonus if you can feel both emotions at the same time. This is how transmutation occurs. An allowance for all emotions to exist as they are.

Once light touches the shadow, the shadow is illuminated. Both aspects must come together to create change and balance.

After prompting yourself, express whatever you need to on paper, releasing whatever you feel called to.

Remember to be gentle with yourself during this process and take your time.
